Tubing

For an old-fashioned thrill, there’s nothing like barreling down a snowy hill on an over-inflated rubber tube with a somewhat unpredictable trajectory. If this is what you’re after, then try out the tubing hill at the resort and the two tubing hills in Fraser. The tubing hills in Fraser are conveniently situated side by side. The Historic Fraser Tubing Hill stays open at night and shuttles guests back to the top of the hill via a “magic carpet.” The Colorado Adventure Park offers single tubes, double tubes for two people as well as snow scoots - miniature snow machines for kids.

Snowcat Tour

For those who want a break from skiing, you might want to consider a 2 hour Snowcat Tour around Winter Park. If you've come in a big group, this can be a perfect opportunity to bond. The tour will take you to explore hidden gems in the the amazing terrain and history of Winter Park Resort. Alternatively, you could book a Snowcat Stargazing Tour for the perfect family adventure which takes you to Fraser Valley for the sunset and stars.

Routine Fitness

If you’re a workout buff and can’t stand to break your routine, Grand County Community Recreation Centre between Fraser and Winter Park offers fitness classes and maintains very comprehensive facilities. These activities include a climbing wall and an elevated running platform around the basketball court.

Massage

Skiing and snowboarding are not without some unexpected soreness, especially if you do not participate often. For sore legs, stiff backs and tight necks, the on-resort option for a massage is Alpenglow. Prices start at $60 per session and the service is available year round.

Ski Lessons

If you need a refresher or if you are brand new to skiing or snowboarding, the resort provides lessons through the ski and ride school. These are the only official teaching services offered on the mountain but that shouldn’t stop you from learning from a seasoned friend or a friendly local. If you want to try a fun alternative to skiing and snowboarding, ski bike lessons are a must – especially since not many resorts allow it.

Ski Hire

If you want convenience that comes with overnight ski storage, use Winter Park Resort Rentals which is situated at the base of the mountain within the resort. This is the best option as they also provide on-site service in the event of an equipment malfunction. In the town of Winter Park, Christy Sports, Beavers Sports Shop and Alpine Sun Ski & Sport provide rental services while in Fraser rentals can be obtained at Ski Broker, Icebox Mountain Sports and Black Tie Ski Rentals.

Child Care Facilities

If you are traveling with young children and toddlers and you need some “me” time, there are a number of ways for you to escape (temporarily).

1. The resort offers child care services through the ski and ride school that operate from 8:00 AM until 4:00 PM. 

2. Alternatively, the resort offers a non-ski nursery (previously known as Wee Willies) for young children from ages 6 months to 6 years and are open 7 days a week during the ski season. Be sure to call up early because you have to book two days in advance!

3. If you want to leave the kids in the condo and get a little time away in the town or the slopes, the Sitter Service of Grand County can send a babysitter direct to your door.

4. If you’re in Fraser, Grand Kids Childcare is an option.

Ski Patrol

Your safety during your adventure at Winter Park is an overarching concern. For that reason, the Ski Patrol is prevalent throughout the resort, with the main office number printed on all ski and snowboard rentals. In the event that you are involved in an accident and can’t make it down the mountain, call (970) 726-1480 or use the emergency phones that are located throughout the slopes and are well marked on all trail maps.

Banking

If you need to grab some cash, there is an ATM near the ticketing office and one in the Balcony House in the village. You can also use debit cards and credit cards just about anywhere in the resort without limitation. If you need banking services, there is a Wells Fargo in Winter Park. If you’re off resort and looking for a bank, Fraser has Bank of the West, Grand Mountain Bank and Centennial Bank and Trust branches. Visa and MasterCard are widely accepted.

Internet

If you’re an internet junkie, don’t panic just because you’re up in the mountains. Most lodgings on the resort offer free WiFi. You can also catch a signal at the Starbucks and the Einstein Bros.

Health

If you have an injury or a condition requiring physical therapy, Alpine Physical Therapy located in nearby Fraser can be reached on (970) 726-8503. On-resort medical attention including routine visits and emergency services are provided by Denver Health East Grand Clinic.
